Summer is over … now stop procrastinating

August 30, 2012 by Kim Barrot, Attorney

Summertime brings sunshine, barbeques, outdoor events and extra time with friends and family. For many people, summer is the time to vacation. We often forget just how much work it is to leave town for even a few days. It might mean spending a few more hours at the office, extra loads of laundry, a few shopping trips to get the essentials not to mention spending countless hours planning the trips lodging, transportation and activities.

While busy planning the trip, it was on your mind to create or amend your estate plan. A current estate plan should be in place before going on a trip but people get so busy, they make it on the trip but do not meet with their estate planning attorney.

Now that the kids are back at school and we are back to our regular routines, it is time to think about what we have been putting off all summer while we were having too much fun. For some it may be cleaning the house, completing that chore list, while for others it means scheduling all the appointments that you thought about but didn’t make during the summer. If seeing your estate planning attorney is something you didn’t get to, call us to schedule an appointment
