Retaining Falk, Cornell and Associates, LLP for Estate Planning Services

July 15, 2014 by Jenna Gimarelli

At Falk, Cornell and Associates, LLP, we provide service in two main areas: preparation an estate plan and administration of an estate plan when a trustor passes away. When you pay a retainer for the preparation of an estate planning, you retain our firm to draft an estate plan, which consists of a Living Trust, Pour-Over Will, Power of Attorney, Advanced Health Care Directive, and HIPAA Authorization. In addition, you receive a complimentary three year review, complimentary Docubank service for one year, quarterly newsletters, and unlimited communication with the attorney and staff during the process. The retainer does not include services for trust administration.

Trust administration is the process of executing the terms of the trust after the trustor has passed away. When we are asked to provide services in trust administration, another retainer is obtained. The services provided in administering the trust are charged against the retainer at the attorney or paralegal’s hourly rate. After the retainer is depleted, clients are billed on a monthly basis for services provided. Retaining our firm for probate services consists of signing a fee agreement, but all fees and expenses are usually paid after the probate process is complete.
