It’s 2017! A time to review …

February 14, 2017 by Kim Barrot, Attorney

You finally have time to reflect. The holiday season is done. Hopefully, while you enjoyed the holidays with your loved ones, you took a few moments to observe; not just the usual interactions of children playing and adults discussing events, but considering your estate plan and the individuals you have named as the guardians of your children, the trustees of your trust and the agent to make your medical decisions. With any luck, your decisions have been confirmed. Your children had smiles on their faces and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with your sister. Your brother-in-law shared his financial strategies and it resonated with you. Your family friend that comes over every year shared with you that he has been assisting his mother in her older years, taking her to doctor’s appointments and being her advocate.

Perhaps, the holidays presented the alternative, where you realized that the individuals you selected to serve in these capacities five to ten years ago are no longer appropriate. Whichever situation you find yourself, if you have not come to see us for a multi-year review in three years or more, please call and schedule an appointment. We look forward to meeting with you at our new office in San Carlos.
